Seaside- Topic

Hello there!  Welcome to our new blog! Last week we read The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch in English. We collected some fabulous words to use in our own stories about the Lighthouse Keeper.

We then wrote our own stories about 'scavenging' seagulls and picnic lunches that 'zoomed' down zip wires!  In topic lessons we tasted mustard (in the story Mrs Grinling uses mustard to trick the pesky seagulls).

As you can see some of us really liked the mustard and others were less keen!  We spread the mustard onto pieces of bread and then gave it a go - no wonder those seagulls went in search of another picnic!

In topic lessons we made boats using our own ideas.  We then tested them out to see which ones floated the best.

Our role play area this half term is an ice cream parlour. In mathematics we have been using money in the last few weeks so we can practise using money in our ice cream shop.

Well that's all for this week - hope to see you back here next week to find out what we have been doing?
