Bear Hunt

Hi Everyone!

This week in English we have been reading We're Going on a Bear Hunt.  We have looked at all the describing words in the story and we found out that these words are called 'adjectives'.

We then went on our own Bear hunts around the school and tried to think of exciting adjectives to describe the places that we visited.

The rope bridge was "wobbly and long".

The planks were "wooden and flat".

And the climbing frame was "colourful and tall."

We then had a look at 'onomatopoeia'!  This means when the sound of the word is similar to the sound of the thing it describes.  For example - whoosh or bang.  The story of Going on a Bear Hunt has lots of these words in it.

Can you think of any more words?  Why not look in other stories for exciting adjectives?

Wow, thanks everybody for your donations for the cake sale.
Look how much fun we had making our marshmallow pops!

Oh by the way well done Beetles Class for getting On Time Turtle this week.  Keep up the good work!

See you next week?
